Supervision

Counselling is largely a isolating profession but supervision offers a regular opportunity to process the work you have been doing with your clients. It is a place to share your experiences with a colleague, and reflect on your practice in a safe and supportive relationship.

  • ‘Offload’ and process all that information and emotion you’ve been carrying!
  • Reflect on your work with clients
  • Explore ethical decision-making
  • Develop your knowledge
  • Reflect on your career goals and achievements
  • Identify areas for continuing professional development
  • Receive emotional support from a colleague

As both a counsellor and supervisor, I consider myself as someone who will ‘go with the flow’, following a person-centred ethic. That said, I have studied a range of theories from both a counselling, psychological, and biopsychosocial perspective which provides me with a broad range of knowledge to draw on, whoever I am working with, to best meet that individual’s goals for our work together. Supervision also has a range of purposes, as noted above, which we must be aware of.

Student Counsellors are very welcome: I understand how daunting it can be to take your first steps in the counselling profession, and the worries you may have about seeing your first clients.

Reports and other documents, such as placement reports and membership applications, can be prepared for an additional fee. Please ask for further information and a quote.

Cancellations. If you wish to cancel an appointment, I require at least 24 hours notice, otherwise the full cost of the session will be payable. Fees are paid a session in advance.

Please feel free to contact me for more information or to arrange an initial meeting.
